Privacy Policy
Paywall Remover is built so that there is almost nothing to collect. This page explains exactly what that means in practice.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not operate an account system, so we hold no names, email addresses, or passwords for tool users. We set no cookies, load no analytics, embed no advertising scripts, and request no third-party fonts.
We never ask for subscription credentials, session cookies, private access tokens, or payment details, and you should never send them to us.
What Happens to the URL You Paste
The URL and the optional headline are processed by JavaScript running in your own browser. They are used to assemble outbound query links and are not transmitted to any Paywall Remover server, because no such server is involved in generating them.
Your six most recent lookups may be saved in your browser's localStorage so the tool can offer them again. That data stays on your device, is never readable by us, and is deleted permanently when you press Clear.
Outbound Links and Third Parties
When you click one of the generated routes, your browser contacts that service directly — the Internet Archive, Google, Google Scholar, WorldCat, CORE, DuckDuckGo, or the publisher itself. From that point their own privacy policy applies to the request, and we have no visibility into it.
We add rel="noopener noreferrer" to those links so the destination does not receive referrer information from this site or gain scripting access back to the page you came from.
Hosting Logs
Like any website, the hosting provider that serves these static files may record ordinary technical request logs such as IP address, timestamp, and requested path, for security and reliability purposes. That is standard server operation and is not linked to any lookup you perform in the tool, which never reaches the server at all.
Children
This site is a general-audience reference tool. It is not directed at children, and it knowingly collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes materially, the revision date at the top of the page will be updated. Because the site collects so little, changes are expected to be rare and clarifying rather than expansive.
