Our guides exist to make article access understandable. These are the standards they are written to.
What We Cover
Our guides explain article access, public archives, library research, paywall mechanics, reader privacy, research workflow, and subscription decisions. The goal is that a reader finishes each piece knowing which route applies to their situation and why.
The Circumvention Line
We consistently distinguish public discovery from circumvention. We do not publish instructions intended to defeat server-side authentication, payment systems, DRM, or rate limiting, and we do not recommend browser extensions or configuration profiles whose function is to bypass those controls.
Sourcing
We prefer first-party publisher documentation, established public archives, library and consortium resources, scholarly indexes, and direct verification against the source. Where a claim depends on a service's current behaviour, we describe how to check it yourself rather than asking you to take our word.
What We Will Not Invent
We do not fabricate ratings, usage counts, success rates, testimonials, or legal guarantees. We do not present a technique as reliable when its outcome depends on a publisher configuration that can change at any time.
Corrections
When a guide is wrong or has gone stale, we fix it and update the review date. Substantive corrections are described in the text rather than silently overwritten. Reports are welcome at the contact address below.
Independence
The site carries no advertising, no sponsored placements, and no affiliate links. Nothing in a guide is influenced by a commercial relationship, because there are none to influence it.
